I carry Your Heart

The other day I was watching the American comedy-drama film, 'In Her Shoes', based on a novel by Jennifer Weiner
At the end, Maggie (Cameron Diaz) dedicates a poem to her sister Rose (Toni Collette), written by E. E. Cummings. It touched me so much that I could not stop myself from sharing it.

I Carry Your Heart

I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart
I am never without it
Anywhere i go you go, my dear
And whatever is done

And whatever is done
By only me is your doing, my darling
I fear no fate
For you are my fate, my sweet
I want no world, for beautiful
You are my world, my true
And it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant

You are my world, my true
And it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
And whatever a sun will always sing is you
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
And the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
Which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide
And this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart
I carry it in my heart

Things Which Force You To Think

The morning starts with a rush ! (In each of my post, it does :P )
All u think of is, is going to school/college/office or sending ur children/husband to work. You don't really have time to think of those who don't get to go to such places.
Whenever u step out of ur home, u see numerous faces from dawn to evening. Some people/scenes tend to catch ur eyes all the time.

  • Remember crossing that traffic signal everyday and seeing that little 5 year old girl/boy or that 60 year old lady or that man who has lost his leg ?
  • Remember that ray of hope, those eyes saying :
Why do I deserve something less than you ?
  • Remember that little girl doing gymnastics at the traffic signal ?
The moment the signal becomes green, you feel a sense of relief (the ignorant people do not feel anything). You keep remembering their faces which force you to think.

While u r stuck in the traffic jam, listening to radio FM/surfing the net on ur phone helps u to kill the time.

  • That news of terrorist attack dramatically ends up sending a cold shiver in your body.
  • That news of Earthquake on it sets up a sense of danger and stress in your mind and heart.
  • A great Army Officer who devoted 20 years of his life to the nation dies in a war.

All these things from dawn to evening keep disturbing your mind. At the end of the day, reaching ur "Home Sweet Home" releases all ur worries. Seeing the smiling faces of ur loved ones after a 10 hour long stressed schedule, leaves nothing but a cute curve on ur face(a beautiful smile). At night, when u lay on ur bed, thinking about ur "long" day forces u to think how important is ur life for ur loved ones and that is why God has made u capable enough of bringing that curve on their lovely faces.

Finally, it happened!

It was Tuesday(Aug 2, 2K11) morning. The noises(filled with excitement as well as nervousness) from my brother's room woke me up. I got up from the bed and went to his room.

Oh my God! ... few things were scattered on the carpet while the others were peeping out from the suitcases and few others from his cupboard. Oh yes! he was supposed to catch a flight (whose departure was at 11:25 p.m the same night) . So, he had to report at 8:30 p.m at the airport and obviously, we all were struck in doing the last minute preparations. A couple of hours later, everything settled and we were supposed to get the bags and suitcases, weighed.
Well well well... it wasn't a surprise to find that the luggage was definitely overweight. It was 4 p.m. now when all of us started removing the unnecessary things which took us another couple of hours. The clock was undoubtedly moving faster now. The time flew in blink of an eye. Finally we all left at 7 p. m.

We reached the airport at 7:5o p.m. While we were on our way, my brother was busy in saying " thank you's " to the numerous " Best Wishes Calls " from relatives and friends. And it was the time to say "goodbye". As he entered through Gate number 2, he started walking towards the end of Gate number 5, we followed him, walking parallel outside(visitors or rather people other than their customers), where he stood in the queue to get his luggage weighed. We were moving by a few centimeters to catch his glimpse then, as he was moving forward with the queue. After about 20 minutes he went inside and now, was out of our sight. We saw people hugging, kissing, exchanging "miss u yaar" talks, a few of them crying as well. Even I could feel my eyes being filled up with tears. But, I controlled my emotions because if I wouldn't have controlled then, I wouldn't have been able to control later as well.

Ah! we found a vacant bench. We checked the departure time again on the screen. It flashed 11:25 p.m. Singapore Airlines H (block)
Brother called and told us that he has been declared clear and can board his flight. And, we left for home.

After reaching at 10 p.m., we had dinner and watched TV. One of my cousins paid a visit as my grandmother was alone at home. We had a "gupshup" (chitchat) session for about an hour or so. when "he" called up to inform that he had boarded the flight and was now switching off his cell phone. Mumma gave him numerous instructions and we all did the same as per our turn of talking to him. Finally, we exchanged final goodbyes for one-and-a-half days.

One-and-a-half days later, we got a call from him, informing us that he had reached safe and sound. Phew... this Tuesday is the longest day of my life and the most memorable one as well. Lifting 23+ Kg suitcases isn't a joke after all.

The Monsoon Fun

The day started in a haphazard manner. Though I got a lift till college, it turned out to be of no use as my friends were late and obviously, I couldn't sit in the "class" room alone(i.e., without my friends).
Well, I know u r not reading this blog to know about my "class" room and the lectures which I attended today, but the great fun I had in welcoming the MONSOON !
The sky was fairly cloudy in the morning.

But, by the evening, the gray clouds took over the blue sky, giving a beautiful view. As I was waiting for the bus to come, it began raining. Everyone, including me, went under the shelter. Suddenly, it started raining cats and dogs and it increased the level of suffocation and humidity under that small shelter. Fir maine socha chodo yaar... bheegte hain araam se (Then I thought, just let it be, it feels great to get wet in the rain)

Bliss! Heaven !

As I was having a great pleasure in getting wet in the rain, an auto rikshaw guy stopped and asked me "madam kaha jaogi? " (madam, where do u want to go ?). I could not resist the offer to take the auto when I was merely at some 10 odd minutes distance from my house. Moreover, he himself said that he would take the money as per the meter.
After reaching home, I still wanted to get wet (actually, more wet) in the rain.

But, as its said, "The more u smile, the more u cry". And and and... It was, after all, Mr. Almighty's decision. As I was getting a few pictures clicked, I just fell down, very badly. And as I fell, I just somehow, happened to bite my tongue :( ... "ouch" it still hurts :((

Saara bhoot utar gaya baarish mein bheegne kaa :P
That was it and I rushed to the bathroom, took a shower and had hot hot Maggie :D

Longing for IDLE days

While sitting on that school bench or college bench or that office chair, u just manage to get a glimpse of the outside world. Awww... doesn't that bird looks cute; Oh ! see that toddler, he is just so adorable ; That car looks so stylish. Numerous things catch your eye and your concentration. But, yeah ! That small window helps u to see another beautiful sketch by God.
And that makes u think of those pleasant days when u were just sitting idle, enjoying the company of your best friend (be it a human being or a machine).
But, oh ! that noise won't even let u enjoy those days (sigh) time to be mentally present n not just physically.

We shifted to our new house in the first week of february (yes, i'm a little late for writing this one). But, the tiredness remained for the whole month. On a saturday afternoon, we were enjoying in our royal balcony... doing random chit chat. And mom's cute pink phone rang, it was the time for my cousin sister to go to the hospital. Well, the first baby of our generation was about to see this world in an hour. Wow, I'd called MAASI (maternal aunt) by a sweet little baby.... tringggg...... the phone rang after 45 minutes... wow.. its a BABY GIRL :D
(8 days old)

My brother and I were on cloud nine...
